Building our future skills

This week, Bekkie Scales (our HR Manager) and Richard Hemming (our Manufacturing Engineering Manager) met with Nick Boles MP, Minister for Skills & Equalities at Abingdon & Witney College to talk about potential changes to the Apprenticeships scheme. With 3 existing Engineering Apprentices and a desire to recruit up to 4 more this year, as well as a number of Graduate and other Trainee positions within our business, Crowcon is keen to ensure that policy makers understand some of the challenges faced in recruiting and retaining key personnel.

Revised Confined Space Regulations published by Health & Safety Executive

The UK Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has recently revised its Confined Space Regulations ‘Approved Code of Practice’ document, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to review the guidance in relation to gas detection.

The Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) provides practical advice on how you can comply with the requirements of the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997.
