Scope/Applicability: Crowcon Detection Instruments Suppliers and Customers.
Crowcon are closely monitoring the situation in relation to Coronavirus, a respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan City in China and which continues to expand.
Our priority is to ensure the well-being of our employees based in China. We remain in close communication with them and have taken precautionary measures to help ensure their safety and will continue to review the situation as it evolves.
As a member of Halma plc, we have local incident management teams and are holding regular reviews to assess risk/impact and as a result take timely mitigation actions across a range of key concerns;
- Employee – welfare
- Continuity of supply – products & services
- Transport and logistics
- Customer commitments and support
At this stage our current understanding is that the direct business impact on Crowcon is estimated to be low. We have no specific supply issues relevant to the virus at this time, although we have been advised of some longer lead times for certain products. Currently, our large stockholding is mitigating this risk. Our Supply Chain teams are also working hard to ensure raw material orders reflect current demand and that our suppliers are communicating any potential challenges to us with plenty of warning.
However, the situation is constantly evolving & we will provide further updates as needed if the risk to direct impact for our customers is seen to increase.
We do typically experience heavy demand in March as we close out our financial year & would ask that orders for delivery in March / April are placed as early as possible & any potential large orders are flagged to your Crowcon contact.
