DetectiveIQ named OH&S 2026 New Product of the Year

Crowcon’s DetectiveIQ has been named a winner in the 2026 Occupational Health & Safety New Product of the Year Awards, taking the award in the Industrial Hygiene: Gas Monitors & Instrumentation category.

Now in its 16th year, the OH&S New Product of the Year programme recognises outstanding product development from health and safety manufacturers, highlighting solutions considered particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve workplace safety.

The award is another welcome recognition for Crowcon’s new generation of gas detection technology, following a series of recent industry accolades and shortlists across the IQ range. Earlier this year, DuoIQ received a Red Dot Award for Product Design, while the wider IQ portfolio has also gained recognition from IOSH and the Energy Industries Council.

Designed for temporary, mobile and rapidly changing work environments, DetectiveIQ combines advanced area monitoring with long battery life and connected safety capabilities. It can monitor up to seven gases simultaneously, while long-range mesh networking connects multiple monitors across a site to provide greater visibility of developing gas hazards.

DetectiveIQ has also been designed around the practical realities of field use, with more than 101 days of operation from an eight-hour charge, an integrated pump for remote sampling up to 30 metres, and a rugged IP66/IP68 design for demanding industrial environments.

Vikesh Patel, Senior Project Manager at Crowcon Detection Instruments, said: “DetectiveIQ was developed by spending a lot of time understanding how area monitors are actually used in the field and where we could make that experience better.

“Area monitoring is often needed in environments that change quickly, so connectivity, battery life and ease of deployment were all really important to us. The mesh network allows devices to work together and gives teams a clearer picture of gas risk across a site, while the extended battery life means less intervention once equipment is deployed.”

DetectiveIQ forms part of Crowcon’s wider IQ range, alongside UnoIQ and DuoIQ portable gas detectors, IQhub and Crowcon Connect. Together, the portfolio has been developed to improve the way gas detection equipment is used, serviced and managed.
